As an MDiv student, I saw the lack of ministry resources specific to the Asian American communities I felt called to serve. Years later, I discovered the continual lack of literature in specifically Filipino American theology. Then, after what felt like a holy moment at a session at the American Academy of Religion conference in 2017, a few of ous FilAm scholars started to connect online. We then applied for and received a 3-year grant from the Louisivlle Institute to do a Collaborative Research Inquiry on Emerging Filipino American Theology in the Age of Covid 19. Over those years, we found our belonging with one another. We experienced first-hand how our cultural prepensity to be in community helped us survive and thrive in the predominantly white nstitutions of Theological Education.

I want to create a community of religious scholars who support one another, create with one another, and communion with one another the way our ancestors have for centuries. We are thought leaders in the religious field and Theo Adobo seeks to embody a theology of Kapwa and a posture of hospitality.
